Life!

The purpose of the Church is not to make bad people good, but to bring dead people back to life.

Why Do I Exist? - Strategic LifePlan Retreat

The difference between living fully alive and simply managing our sin until eternity is the difference between life and death.  We read amazing stories from the Bible and hear incredible contemporaneous tales about those who change the world in unique and inspiring ways.  For most of us, however, we view those stories as exceptions to the rule and see our own lives as more pedestrian, simple, and of no consequence.

But the Bible was not meant to be a book of exceptions, but a book of examples on what walking with the Father is meant to look like.  Extraordinary lives of adventure, impact, and purpose is the life intended by our Father, but claimed by the elite few.  Without grace, we are separated from the Father’s love.  In grace, through the Messiah, we are invited into life!

All that passing laws against sin did was produce more lawbreakers. But sin didn’t, and doesn’t, have a chance in competition with the aggressive forgiveness we call grace. When it’s sin versus grace, grace wins hands down. All sin can do is threaten us with death, and that’s the end of it. Grace, because God is putting everything together again through the Messiah, invites us into life—a life that goes on and on and on, world without end.
— Paul’s Letter to the church in Rome

In Him we are…

  • Resplendent image bearers of the most high God
  • A royal priesthood
  • Rebuilders, renewers, and restorers
  • Oaks of righteousness

In order to be all that God intended in each one of us as parents, spouses, and community & business leaders, we need to understand how we bear the image of God uniquely.  After 25 years of largely a “sin management” existence, an executive LifePlan experience:

  • Redeemed the experiential currency of both the good and bad of the story I lived
  • Awakened long dormant passions
  • Helped identify gifts, purpose, and mission
  • Appropriated all into an actionable plan with goals and action steps to realization

In short, my life has never been the same.  It made the unimaginable clear, and the realization of that clarity, incontrovertible.  I had to fulfill what was now so unmistakable.  There has been momentum, certainty, and movement toward a uniquely divine purpose ever since that day.  I finally have an answer to the question that haunts everyone: “Why do I exist?”

An increasing number of people are starting to determine the answer to that question as well.  Read what some of the attendees from our last retreat had to say.  (You might consider making plans to join us for our next SummitTrek Group Strategic LifePlan on January 23-25 in Bandera, TX):

“There is no way to place a value on the last 3 days! Priceless! Spending this time with you guys helping me get focus, clarification, and purpose for this next chapter of my life was worth more than I can describe!”

“The Personal Calling Statement and Action Steps are what took this from a mountaintop experience retreat to a tangible, exciting plan that will alter the course of my life, my family, and the people I come in contact with. I will not let the world be robbed of the gifts God has given me!”

“I came into this weekend hoping something good would come out of it but expecting nothing to come out of it. I could not have been more wrong. The depth of clarity of the past allowed me to clearly see a future with me squarely where I belong.”

“The weekend was awesome – beautiful setting at Purple Sage Ranch and action packed sessions to help inspire us to dream and then to make the vision plain during the exercises you’ve so carefully crafted. It’s been too long since I’ve taken the time to reflect over my life and look for God’s hand in all my experiences.”

“The entire weekend was powerful in ways I cannot fully convey. Things I have always known but ran from were placed in front of me. God has silenced the ocean of doubt and given me a compass to which to journey… Not a destination but a direction. I now step with confidence more than before and with purpose.”

“This weekend was a great experience. The Pre-Work did an amazing job of sorting and organizing my life experiences, past and present to give me a better picture of who and why I am the way I am today. I look forward to carrying out and doing the follow up work to more clearly nail down my purpose and vision statements as well as my goals and account steps.”

“Incredible. I came into this weekend very expectant of God revealing in a clear way His intention for my life. What I learned was that it’s not about the destination, but the journey. I learned that life’s circumstances and challenges, things I have been fearful of and ashamed of, God has an express purpose for. He is the potter and I am His clay. I am eternally grateful.”

“This helped provide clarity on what my life is and is not. This weekend has helped my husband and I become even closer. We are inspired by what is to come. We are inspired on what more we have to offer to our children, family, and many others.”

“This was the missing piece that I have been looking for. I have attended many events that have challenged me and helped propel me personally and spiritually, but nothing professionally. It is amazing how much these three are connected. With more clarity professionally I anticipate exponential growth personally and spiritually.”

“…this weekend was eye-opening. To be able, through help and guidance, to connect the dots from the past to the present, and how to change for the future is life changing. I left with hope and clarity. Hope for the future and clarity on how to make it so.”
